Tennis Towel Vision

Vera Zvonareva Through To First Wimbledon Quarterfinal
By Adrianna Outlaw
(June 28, 2010) Vera Zvonareva brought towel vision to Court 12 today.
Sitting on her court-side seat with a towel draped over her head during
changeovers, Zvonareva tried to block out everything except her relationship with the ball.

I actually cover this technique in my DVD set. In most recreational matches people want to BS during the changover. This practice, although polite, won’t help you win many matches. You should be focusing on as Brad Gilbert says, “Who is doing what to who?”
Isolating yourself with the towel takes guts in a recreational match with your buddies, but when you start whomping them consistently they’ll be doing the same thing before too long.

Vera Zvonareva into the Wimbledon semi-finals today with a win over Kim Clijsters 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. What a great win for her. She now faces T. Pironkova of Bulgara who defeated Venus Williams today in the quarterfinals. This could be a great draw for Pironkova playing an unseeded player (even though she beat Venus) in the semi-finals of Wimbledon. The other semi-finals includes Serena Williams vs P. Kvitova. I think i’ll go with a Zvonareva/Williams final. Any takers??
I’m not into betting but isn’t Zvonareva the one who breaks down into tears at the first signs of trouble. I wonder what she’s done to keep her head on straight?
Maybe watched some old Alan Fox tapes. He works on the mental game.
I will go with Zvonareva/Williams too. Maybe Vera chickens when she smells trouble but maybe this time she took the whole thing much more seriously.
I hope she won’t try to be like James Blake!
She just beaten Kim Clijsters, right? If it had to be her and Williams in the Finals…I’d go for Zvonareva.
I agree with Ken, I think she took it seriously this time around. Thank, God!
I should go get Tom’s DVD set, I want to show off some new techniques to my buddies.
Tennis Towel Vision do sounds like something I could try out. Thanks for sharing! As for Vera, I just wish her all the luck in the world. I am still for Williams FTW.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up badly for her, I sincerely hope though that she’d run off with the championship. I think she had showed some mad skills last game. So yeah, goodluck to her.
