Tennis Business Cards
We just got our new tennis business cards in. We simply put a tennis ball on a round card and put in the info. A good graphics person can “fatten” up the middle of the text to make it look like it’s on a round ball even though it’s obviously a flat card.
Talk to your printer or look for “round business cards” on line.
Tennis comeback video
Check out this video on a great tennis comeback.
What’s unique about it? The comback was stimulated by a text message……hey is that illegal text messaging coaching?????? I really don’t know.

Kicked off Tennis Warehouse forum already
Yesterday I told you we got mentioned on the Tennis Warehouse Talk Tennis forum. Today the entire thread was cancelled.
I inquired about this and got this terse answer from the discussion admin:
“The entire thread was deleted for the promotion of 2 websites.”
I’m waiting on a second answer from them to discuss what happened. I didn’t initiate any promotion of FatsoTennis. Their other members did and some of the people in the discussion had over 4000 postings.
Many were praising my tips.
I hope I didn’t run into a “tennis snob” with too much power. . . . We’ll see.
We hit the big time at Tennis Warehouse
hahahaha
You know you hit the big time when they start talking about you at the fantastic forum at Tennis Warehouse
Talk Tennis Forum at Tennis Warehouse
I have learned so much at this forum over the years. I never actually posted anything, but there are hundreds of GREAT tennis players there and you would be doing yourself a BIG favor by visiting this tennis discussion board.
Coach Kyril Tennis
Good luck to Coach Kyril on the grand reopening of his tennis membership site. I’ve learned a ton from him.
New Tennis Membership Site
The guy that wrote the ten laws of tennis and produced the DVD “The Secrets of the Power Serve” is coming out very soon with a new membership site. I think it’s being released on 4/8/10 but I know at least a preview is up right now. Click here to check it out.
Federer loses and I’m crushed
I wonder why I feel so bad when Roger Federer loses…..especially to the likes of Tomas Berdych. I was watching the Sony Ericson Open in Key Biscayne, Florida last night on the tennis channel and I really thought Federer was going to crush Berdych in the last set. When he didn’t. I was crushed.
Maybe it’s because I relate to Federer so much….certainly not with my tennis skills, but with my admiration for his generosity, humble character and great sportsmanship.
I’m glued to the tennis channel most evenings with my laptop on my lap where I’m either working or logged on to one of the many tennis membership sites I belong to like http://www.CoachKyrilTennis.com . As I watched Roger lose I did notice one thing that I think we could all learn from.
When Roger really cranked his first serve he was hitting it into the net. It was like you could see that he wanted to put Berdych in his place. You could see his entire body tense up to hit the serve as hard as humanly possible ……and then. Boom! Right into the net.
The lesson for all of us is that if the number one guy in the world can’t play tense, then how can we expect to play tense and try to overhit. For us big people we have to totally remind ourselves to STAY SMOOTH both to conserve energy which is critically important for us and to execute our strokes properly.
Tennis Tip: Another reason to hit deep
Yesterday I told you how I learned about hitting deep from Vic Braden. Today I want to expand on another reason it is good to hit deep.
Let’s back up a bit. When a tennis ball hits a tennis court it slows way down from the speed it was traveling while in the air. If you regularly hit really hard, to be consistent, you most likely have to hit shorter in the court to make sure you don’t hit the ball long. Even if you hit hard, the ball isn’t going nearly as fast by the time it gets to your opponent because it has hit the court and slowed down.
Let’s say you look at this a little differently. Let’s say you didn’t hit the ball nearly as hard but you aimed higher over the net to make sure you got great depth into the court while the ball was in the air. Guess what. The ball was probably going just as fast when it got to your opponent as it was when you hit hard and short.
What are the advantages of this tactic? A.) By not swinging as hard you will have better control, B.) A ball that lands deep in the court forces your opponent to either take the ball on the rise which is a much more difficult shot, or back up way into the back court to hit the ball in their normal strikezone which opens up the entire court for you.
Try hitting controlled deep shots and see what a difficult time it will create for your opponent.
